Nicely done poem about homespun memories. The strongest verse are in the poem's close: "But the dearest of yesterday's treasures/Melt my heart like a church bells ring/It's those fragrances in time, honeysuckles on a vine/
And the sweet scent of Lilacs in the Spring." The art work and well chosen words leave the reader with a beautiful impression. Best wishes, Hector

This is a beautiful poem. I also like the colors you used for your presentation. And you used my favorite fragrances of honeysuckles and liliacs. You described beautiful memories to share. Of times we can all remember. This is a feel good poem. You bring a smile to my face.

Thanks you so much! Yea, I remember the smell of honeysuckles when I was a kid. Seems like it's hart to smell the sweetness outdoors anymore. Maybe it's all the exhaust fumes :) Thanks again!

Excellent, nicely done the power of scent to evoke a memory complete with time and place. Flowers speak volumes and hold our treasured memories in their scent. Good job. Best Regards. Trees.

Thank you so much! Yea, honeysuckles do it for me every time. Purple's my favorite color, so I really enjoyed picking the art for this. Thanks again.

Lilacs are my mom's favorite flowers, and even though she doesn't like poetry, I think she would like this poem.
The flow of the poem is nice, and you use great descriptive language.
Nice poem.

Now what could be nicer at this time of night! A beautifully composed poem evoking childhood memories of the seaside and Christmas. Anyone who didn't have a smile on their face after reading your lovely words must be made of stone. Nice choice of illustration too. Thank you Suzie Q for cheering me up in the late hours. Ron

Wow! What a beautiful review! Good grief, it's better than my poem! :) It's 6 p.m. here. How late is it where you are? I hope it does put a smile on everyone's face. I was lucky I had a few Lilac photos to choose from. Glad you liked it. Hope I write another one to cheer you up:)

Suzzy Q,
your poem is profound and beautifully written. Excellent rhyme, vivid imagery, great narrative and cleaver use of metaphors. Exquisite art work of lilacs. I especially enjoyed the lines:

With the dawn of a brand new day
We take one more step toward tomorrow
Though eager to see what lies ahead of you and me
We sometimes long to borrow

Like a jigsaw puzzle of emotions
Each moment plays a special role
Recollections intertwine, pieced together in our mind
And locked forever in the depths of our soul

But the dearest of yesterday's treasures
Melt my heart like a church bells ring
It's those fragrances in time, honeysuckles on a vine
And the sweet scent of Lilacs in the Spring

Cleaver use of alliteration in the last line of the last stanza with 'sweet scent.' You poem is a fabulous. I look forward to reading more of your poetry. I'm awarding you five stars of excellence. . .Melissa.

Oh, God bless you! I like your review better than I like my poem! You know what's funny? I didn't really notice about the "sweet scent" part until you mentioned it. Thanks for bringing it up. Thank you for noticing the art work. I had a couple of Lilac pictures to choose from and it was hard to make up my mind. You made me feel like I made the right choice. Thank you again!
