So from the deepest despair hope once again lives. Great chapter, a lot of vivid imagery. My favorite image is this:
and from its shadow crawled the judge
to underline our strife.

Thank you :-). It's all about hope, redemption, andeventually the triumphant end of both. I'm thrilled you're enjoying the earlier chapters :-)

Again, 5 means6 here. DArn darn darn!! I knew she had to die but in such a hateful way after finding her Adam!! Madness and religion seem to have historically been friends--hard for me to understand since God defines love, is love. Well, let's see how u get out of the well. Wow, this is just like my discovering Edgar Allen Poe in 7th grade (I'm 58 now lol) later and God bless, shy

Thanks again, shy :-). It's exciting, replying to these reviews in real time, knowing that somebody is reading my chapters a few minutes ahead! I wasn;t sure whether to kill his Eve until it happened, but the story was finding its own way at this point, and I was just the monkey sitting in front of it with a pen :-)

Excellent! I have to ask as I am not sure. In the poem, his companion threw herself in front of him to save him from the bullets, right? or not?

-The eyes behind were wild with hyp - was this supposed to be 'hype'?-

Thank you :-). I'm so glad you're continuing to enjoy the Wandering Man. You're quite right, his female companion, on whom he'd come to rely, sacrificed herself to give him a chance to live and fulfill his destiny.

Hyp is an old word for a morbid feeling of depression. I do like resurrecting words that have fallen out of use!

What can one say Mike... You know set new standards every-time you post one of these chapters mate, your talent is unique and you stand alone as far as I'm concerned mate, YOU are in a league of your own when it comes to dark descriptive, visual explosive writing, this was CLASS, pure Class, can't wait for the next one. Fu*k! It[the site] won't let me six you...AGAIN![it Says I have three left]
It was a six mate, without doubt.

Thanks, Hitch! I'm really enjoying the Walking Man, and I now know the ending. Not sure all will like it, but we shall see. A dark poem can only have a dark conclusion.

I enjoyed it very much indeed, Mike. Shame you had to finish her off, though. I wait with interest to see future developments. xxxx

From its humbler beginning, Mike, this has developed into a marvellous tale. Full of agony and desperation. Gilded with love and shot down in flames. Lovely. Pat. xxx

I am not sure that the word 'enjoyed' is appropriate. As I read this long and well structured poem, I found it to be morbid and depressive, yet it had a glimpse of redemption. The words flowed well, and the depth of your words were powerful.
Warmest regards, Marijke

Thank you, Marijke. I do have a habit of saying 'I hope you enjoyed', when it's not always appropriate! I'm so glad you're continuing to read and appreciate this series. Writing it has been an interesting experience for me.

YES! What an apocalyptic scenario!!! JEEZZZ, I never want to be in a place like this. Your words are so descriptive, this really could be a good novel even Mike! I could find no errors either. I am trying to train myself to look for them, rather than just give opines! A soft pet for the adorable feline?? ") Susan

There's nothing wrong with opines, Susan. They're just as important and helpful as error correcting and nitpicking. Little Ozzy (aka Cartman) says thankee kindly! :-)

This work has reached the exceptional level

This reminds me of Percy Shelly's "Mask of Anarchy" and I loved the whole thing. I'd quote the bits I really liked, but that might take awhile, so I'll leave you with a hearty and heartfelt WELL DONE! and bid you goodnight. VW
