Thanks for sharing this.

Jonathon,
Buying a lottery ticket for me is like just handing out a donation to the other winner. lol Thanks so much...Carol

Too bad you missed the contest, and I apologize for taking so long to get to read this one. I expect it would have done quite well in the contest.
Well done, Buck

Buck,
No apologies needed...I am so far behind on two days of responses that I am thoroughly ashamed. Not enough time in the day...Thank you...Carol

This is a great story in so few words. Your words pulled me right into that general store. I like the play on ticket. The dialogue and descriptions were right on.

Your story had me smiling. It described a typical conversation/event between people disappointed because their lottery ticket wasn't a winner. We can all relate to this and the romantic ending was lovely

I'm so sorry you missed the contest before filling up, Carol ... this is a great flash fiction. There's more ways to end up being a winner than winning the lottery! Great lil story.

Very cute. I am amazed that you wrote a complete story in only a few words. It says all there is to say and even adds human from the elderly lady. Good luck with the contest.

I enjoyed your little story. There is a sense of community at the lottery counter and you captured that with the realistic dialogue. I bought a megamillion ticket and there was friendly chatter in line. I'm glad you decided to share this.
