This free-verse poem is shocking, illuminating, and compelling as it shows how the mind of a victim must escape the pain and feeling in order to survive, but then finds in the end, that the emotions are frozen forever. Their absence robs her of what she wished and hoped for as a young maiden. So sad. This is an important poem. Thank you for writing it. Best Blessings! Marjie

This is a poem raising awarness and as the author specifies in the author's notes is dedicated to all victims of sexual violence. Faith can give strength to the victims but cannot punish the wrong doers. This is in God's hands.

Thank you. Your kind words are greatly appreciated. And you are so right the punishment is not ours to give.

I like this because...Its such a vivid piece of writing based on a subject which many people feel is a taboo to talk about let alone write a poem about and put out on an international poetry site. This is a enigmatic write which is very powerful with a visual overtone that gets the readers attention from the start. Artistic and precise and at time very heart wrenching to read.
My wife of 24 years was sexually abused by her father when she was young but it took until she was 42 until it started to come out of her, in the way of drinking self abusing by slashing her wrists all the time. In the end she committed suicide in her car with the fumes back in 1993.
Your poem is well written on this subject.

Valkarie, I am so sorry for you loss! There are no words to express my gratitude for your glowing review. Your kind words tell me that I accomplished my goal of telling the story from the victims perspective. When I started working on this a year ago, I did not think I could relive the pain it would take to tell this story; but in my heart I knew it had to be told. I valuable you kind words more than I can convey. Thank you.

I'm just pleased that there is someone out there that understands the pain people go through. A pain that never goes away.
Many regards
Valkarie...

Thank you. I'm so glad you picked deep faith it took to survive the atrocity. Faith is what it is all about.

There is nothing more vile than rape. For a young child it can be devastating. It remains with them all their lives. Excellent job on this piece.

Excellent artwork to go with this very emotionally charged poem filled with sadness and yet hope and faith. It's a shame when someone is done this way but remarkable how they become survivers of such horror.

A beutifully written piece about a tragic crime comitted upon a child, that leaves her unable to truly feel anything as an adult. Far too often this happens and no one ever knows but the person being molested. It does cause devastation that last through out the victims whole life.
Thank you for this piece. Leigh Ann

I love how the girl finds ways to be a great person in spite of what the evil people do to her. It's sad, but I loved the message. Great job.

oldefoggie,
The theme was heart-wrenching. Very painful. Arrangement and narrations are very well written.
There was no SPAG. No typos. No homophones. No problems at all.
I look forward to seeing you again.
Love you,
