Very enjoyable and easy to follow, in fact, I want to follow it. The descriptions paint a dark world in my mind and make the character's desolation palpable. Really good work, thanks for putting it out there.

Thanks, Kurt :-). I wanted to open these chronicles with a strong sense of despair and hopelessness, leading (hopefully) to some lighter times for my lead character. I'm glad it came across as such!

I like this because...I find your wandering man a thought provoking piece which is mysterious and mystic. There is a chilling air about this writing that is both visual and powerful and draws the reader into the piece. A chilling piece keep the suspense going.

Cheers, Valkarie :-). I got a bit paranoid that, after the opening chapter, this one wasn;t up to scratch, but I guess you just have to run with it before you end up sitting on it amidst a maelstrom of fear and lack of confidence. All of which is a highly roundabout way of saying thanks for the review, and I'm glad you enjoyed the read!

This is a very interesting story even though it is different from others. It is mysterious and mystic. It is a very well written story poem with a wonderful flow. I enjoyed reading it very much. Excellent read! God bless you.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Does this look as if your tale is a wonderful step away from the boring norm?
Does this look as if I am 'seeing' your writing?
Does this look as if I can't wait for the next episode?
Does this look as if I am THOROUGHLY enjoying this?

You could slowly but surely take this man ANYWHERE!

You have got my last six. In awe. Pat.

Hi Fleedleflump, I'm really enjoying your poem. It reads well aloud. The rhymes aren't forced and are not predictable. Same goes for the meter.

I also like the images that use the 5 senses. You keep the poem in material world, as much as possible, and it helps the reader keep his footing.

As for the story, I read The Road by Cormac MaCarthy last year. That was pretty bleak too, and a similar idea.

Good luck with the story.

Cheers, Runnin

Thanks, Runnin; what a great review :-). That's the second comparison to "The Road" that somebody's made, and a few friends have told me what a good book it is. I shall have to look it out!

Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts with me :-)
