This one is sooooo much fun to read aloud - fantastic flow, wonderful rhymes, so easy on the ear :-) Liaisons of light - I really do love it when you lift us OUT of the darkness, Mike :-) Brooke

Now, Mike, what would your fiance think??? Let us try to maintain a bit of decorum here :-) I know the animal magnetism between us can't be thwarted even by the distance of an ocean, but we really must try. LOL :-)

Now there's an epic, and slightly naughty, poem if ever I heard one in the making!

Hey! you've got too much free time mate, or your just too damned creative with words that just fall effortlessly from mind to paper[I think I'll go with the second one] again this is awesome mate, talk about smooooooth, if Barry White was still alive he'd steal it and sing it and have women begging him to TAKE THEM!ha ha. Between you and me Mike, I had to look up Susurrus, but that's OK, I've learned a new word, a few thousand more and I'll be catching up too you, ha ha. Have a great day mate I'm going to have another glass of wine.

Cheers mate! Susurrus is one of those words I just wait for the chance to use; it's so damned lyrical! I'm not sure the average 'bird down the pub' would respond well to poetry reading, but you never know! Enjoy that glass of wine mate. I'm off to review about a thousand other entries to the train of thought contest *sigh*

I think you right there mate, I'm not known for reciting poetry in bars, more killer chat up lines, in my younger days anyway[at least that is what i thought I was doing] ha ha.NOW, I save my poetry for Moana and she loves it!ha ha. Have fun reviewing, Hey!The Devil Uriel And Rose Marie took out the story in poem contest mate, How cool is that? at least I have a Pm congratulating me, but I can't see it on the home page. Yep I will have another glass of wine I think, Moana is working tonight{catering for a wedding] But I'm going to wait up, and write a little of course...

Hey, that's great news! I'm jealous, but then you wrote an awesome poem, my friend, and the win is well deserved :-)

Yeah, I don't think Naomi would appreciate me using any lines down the pub, of whichever variety!

I forgot to ask mate, hows the book doing, Any interested parties, I hope so because I know then you'll go back and continue the story, which is Awesome. You're a fantasy man Mike, did you go see Avatar, I did, F*ck what a cool movie, brilliant.
You should send Bran to Peter Jackson over here mate, he loves a bit of dark fantasy, and he is the kind of man that would look at something like Bran, just a thought.
Naomi sounds like Moana, and that my friend is why we love them, they keep us honest! Have a good one! Nice chatting!Hitch

No interested replies yet, but that's okay; I have a list of agents to send it to. I love the Peter Jackson idea; the man could make an awesome Bran film (with me on board as artistic director, of course!).

Yes, RD's verse was lovely. This is a wonderful tribute to hers Mike. I loved "bursts from the sky
like a soft lullaby,
lulling our eyelids
to drowse" exquisitely visual and fair!! And I learned a new word, "susurrus" Hmmmmmm

Thank you, Jude :-). I had a very prolific day yesterday and ended up with poems coming out of my ears, which is why I posted two, which were just the ones I was most happy with I think. So glad you liked this one!

My day was like that yesterday too. I have Tuesday's chapter written and ready and I just posted today's piece. It's always the making funny-money that holds me up. That's also where all my pressure resides!
Oh good one ... "Pressure Resides" ... I feel a poem coming on!

I enjoyed the read very much. I thought the poem was very visual. I love the color lavendar and the line lavendar kiss was beautiful.

Thank you for the lovely review :-). The artwork and Rama Devi's poem were so beautiful they inspired this little verse right on the spot, and then I felt I had to post it!

I really like this piece of poetic art. It flows along its thoughts and phrases so effortlessly. I found this to be written in a very richly woven poetic vogue. That was just a joy to have read and written a review for... John

Aw, I am so touched and pleased you posted this. this was the most poetic and lovely review I've ever received! :)

A delightful surprise and gift!

LOVE every line. Exquisite.
Enjoyed the rhyming and consonance immensely, especially here--

bursts from the sky
like a soft lullaby,
lulling our eyelids
to drowse.

And this verse is my favorite--

A lover's caress,
this stressless
distress,
as susurrus
whispers ignite

Perfect closing and title tied together with a ribbon of poetic grace--
artful touches,
liaisons of light.

This poem boasts exactly THAT!

love and warmest regards,
rd

It was my priviledge to write, and I'm so glad you like it :-). My poems either come to me in three minutes flat or take me days and I'm never sure which I am most proud of, but you've made me proud of this one, so thank you.

Oh, I LOVED this piece Mike. The meter is terrific, the imagery superb and the rhymes sublime. Great alliteration as well. And, you did a great job of sparing and choosing words. My favorite lines:
"A lover's caress,
this stressless
distress,
as susurrus
whispers ignite "

Thank you, Sue! I'm having a very prolific couple of days here, so expect a drought in the near future (I'm a manic expressive ;-)). This one slipped out so smoothly I almost didn't notice I was writing it. I love it when poetry comes like that!
