What a heartwarming truthful story....
Your descriptions (ie: nestled beneath the barren tree branches, a park bench awaited his arrival)line by line you lead the reader through the story. An amazing, in my opinion professionaly done piece.

Very descriptive story of true love. The picture of park bench really sets the
story off well. I could visualize him sitting there. I like the line " Her love for
mankind amazed him." Very enjoyable.

Beautiful story, brought tears to my eyes. You captured the sadness and loneliness of lost love and your ending leaves the reader with such a sense of peace knowing they are, at last, together again.

Aw.. So beautiful and sad, at the same time wonderful. You hit it, all roll up into just a few incredible words. His true love came for him. That in itself is wonderful.

I enjoyed this story. The picture you painted with your words was very clear. No words were wasted. I liked the lovers being re united at the end. A great story 'complete' with so few words. Good luck with the flash fiction contest. Regards EM

What a wonderful little story. I bet that's the way it is for a lot of people who've shared their lives with someone special. Great job.

Because the ending of this story is so uplifting I forgot how sorry I felt for the old man. I can relate to his loneliness and the way he feels the sorrow in his heart. It is an awful feeling and one that can not easily ignored. In the end he was with his beloved and that is as it should be. Well done and good luck in the contest....chey

This is a beautiful love story. I like how the old man still went to the park bench and fed the birds. Isn't it amazing how if you go to the same places as your loved ones that you feel closer to them? The detail and imagery are so clear that I feel like I am there too and watching. Although sad that the man died it is beautiful that he died thinking of her and she had come to take him home. Good luck with the contest. ann
