I got a good chuckle out of this one. It seems to be happening more and more these days, the husband leaving that is. Not the other parts. Good flow, dramatization, descriptions. Queenise

It is true so many of my friends have suffered heartbreak from their mates. I glad you got a chuckle. Thanks for the review and comments.

Oh my goodness! What a disaster that turned into a blessing. I can just imagine the look of shock on her face when all this was taking place. You did a great job telling the story and tell your friend to push her ex into the pool. I don't understand how a husband, and her best friend, could do this, but it happens. Selfish fits the bill.

wow!,Thanks ever so much for the coveted six. It really appreciate the review and nice comment. Her ex-husband didn't survive long after that episode. He had a heart attack and died.

Beth, I'm having trouble with my computer, so until my new part comes, I don't trust it. I'll do my best.

This was an incredible story. Oh, my goodness, what a disaster. You did a wonderful job portraying it.

I'm going to make some comments here that really have nothing to do with your story, but when I read that she was so concerned about Valentine's Day, and not the absolute fact that her husband had left her, I happened to realize how much emphasis is beng put on Valentine's Day everywhere. The way it's going, it's going to rival Christmas. Seemed like every other sentence at the Olympics was "Valentine's Day" (exaggerating, of course). What's the big deal? The flower industry? Just seems kinda odd. Wonder where "they" are going with this. These statements are all rhetorical, just thinking out loud.

Loved your story, no revisions needed, no spag, good structure. pat

You are right. Valentine Day is the biggest for the Candy and card industry. We had breakfast with our kids at Cracker Barrel. That was our celebration.

Oh my gosh, what a scary thing to have happened. But, at least she was compensated, as you say, very richly. I'm glad she's getting a convertible.

A bright coloured convertible seems to me like a much better deal than George anyway.
This is the sort fo scenario that one could laugh at later, but at the time actually sounds quite horrendous.
Well told.

This is hilarious. I laughed and laughed. It was either that or cry. Similar things happen to me all the time, especially raising four sons. If you don't laugh, somebody would probably lose their life.

Thanks for the review. I love your comments. LOL. I know exactly what you mean. I'm usually writing about my own misfortunes brought on by my four kids.

BethShelby,
Great story for this Valentine's Day. Not everyone's February 14 is hearts and flowers. I like the way you retold your friends bad day. I found myself laughing at her mishap. I think Jeannie has the better end of the deal, a cheating man for a new car. This story is proof that fact is stranger than fiction. You picked great art work of Smurphgirl. I like to use anything she does. Angelheart, and Visionary Poet also do awe inspiring art work. I enjoyed reading your non-fiction story.
Melissa.

Melissa, Thank you so much for the lovely review. I have used Smurphgirl's work a lot as well as Angelheart. I don't remember if I've used Visionary Poet's work. I'll check it out.
    Happy Valentine Day!

Truth is always more fascinating than fiction. LOL. This actually was funny. I like the calm way she just let the car roll. Well told Beth.

At least everything turned out for the best. A new life new planters I could live with that. After all who wants to sit and stare at those things he built.

Thank goodness it did not happen to you, Beth. Not that I don't symphatize with your friend. You describe the happening so vividly, and it is such a fiasco. You are such a skillful writer.
