This is a beautifully written poem about Mister. Beautiful photo to compliment your words as well. What a nice story about Mister and how he got to be adopted.

Thank you for the exceptional review and the six stars. Yes, he was a lucky little fellow to be rescued literally in the 11th hour, on the day he was scheduled to be euthanized.

I am owned by two cats and I am happy that Mister found a good home. Excellent poem that gives a voice to those felines who are in shelters and need a home. I look forward to the day when there are no more kill shelters.

Touching tale of saving a tail!

It's so sad there is a death row for pets. What a compassionate calling you have, dear Yelena. Your sonnet is a fine tribute to it, and quite inspiring!

Well penned. Good flow and rhymes, form and phrasing. Great phonic poetic devices deftly woven in.

A few punctuation suggestions:

I saw you sitting in your cage
So lonely, frightened yet demure(.)
I felt the pangs of silent rage(,)
as death has webbed its icy lure.

But I stood guard and conquered death!
You'll get to live your life in full(.)
Please pray for me, as you draw breath(. or ;)
My little darling, justice ruled.

So beautiful, buff color fur(.)
The shelter says you're very sweet(--)
Named "Mister", or in French "Monsieur"(.)
One day(,) I'd love for us to meet.

Sweet angel, you will be set free(.)
That's pretty cool, don't you agree?

I particularly enjoyedL

I felt the pangs of silent rage
as death has webbed its icy lure.

And all the L sounds in these two lines sound super read aloud:

You'll get to live your life in full

My little darling, justice ruled.

Perfect closing couplet:

Sweet angel, you will be set free
That's pretty cool, don't you agree?

Much Love,
rd

Kudos to you for your kindness and courage to speak and act in behalf of those who cannot. I admire all who work hard to save shelter animals - in particular those on death row. We have had several shelter animals and are glad to give them a loving home. Thank you for sharing Mister's story!

Poor baby to be treated like that, ET. You saved Mister's life. What a cutie he is. I'm thrilled he got a second chance. He knows he did, too. You are an angel to all the little kitties and other critters you saved. Thanks for the informative notes.
Respectfully, Jan

Mister

Excellent sonnet with perfect iambic tetrameter. I don't do rhyme but I like to read it.

Your story is very heartfelt and endearing. You are very kind. Poor little Mister, I'm happy you saved him and later was adopted. Yay!

The author's words are engaging, interesting, heartfelt, and creative.
The author's notes tell it all - how wonderful that you actually saved
this cat's life. I thought about how following one's gut feelings can make
such a difference. The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is
awesome and compliments this poem.
