I thought this was very cute and a wonderful surprise for the ending. I just wish it was longer and more developed (I realize it was for flash fiction, but it would be great expanded)

Oh this gave me a laugh, so like children, if they don't hide it in there pockets or give it to the dog, they still find ways not to eat what they dont like , especially when a sweet has been offered.

Humorous and short enough that at bed time the kids will want it read at least three times.

Great.

Hello Begin Again,

I did enjoy it a lot. A very brief glimpse into the mysterious and devious depths of a four-year-old's mind. Reminds me of slipping Mom's meatloaf to the dog under the table.

I never liked her meatloaf.

I think this story is very cute. It's also something I could see my own kids doing, except that they really like veggies. But if I was serving something they didn't like, then either it would be hidden or it would "accidently" be dropped on the floor! Your story would have done well in the contest, and as far as I'm concerned, anyone who writes something this sweet is a winner in my book!

I did enjoy this very much, Carol. You had me grinning at that smart little girl. A delightful little story and I'm sorry it didn't make the contest.

Hi Carol, certainly enjoyed this. Fun, and enjoyable. Reminded me of the chewing gum stuck under the desk.
Green beans, they didn't really think all these kids were going to eat them?
Thanks for the laugh, warmest regards

I guess she did because she scolded Wendy and myself considerably...I think I laughed all the way home and still find myself smiling when I remember. Carol

How resourceful, a toddler can be to receive their ice cream Prize. I loved this little story and can certainly relate to these challenges.

She was quite the clever child until caught. The teacher was quite upset. I think I laughed all the way home. Smiles, Carol

Thank you for sharing and crafting this children flash fiction, Carol. You're really original. I think that's the only word I could find for you this Wednesday afternoon. LOL. This funny story reminds me when my mother made me sit on her laps - I was already an eighth grader - to feed me spoonfuls of spinach. Yuck. Best regards,
