What a true and important observation, Marijke - how can we expect to teach our children the importance of peace in the world if we are arguing in our own home all the time? I've often thought the same thing about all sorts of lessons - how do parents who smoke or drink teach the shortcomings of smoking and drinking? How do parents teach honesty when their kids hear them talk about cheating on their taxes or when they hear their parents lie to the neighbors? Good flow and rhyme also :-) Brooke

we can teach them peace as well as.... manners, fortitude, love of education....etc. etc. You have said quite a lot in short amount of words. Nice presentation of your artwork. Not really a new concept but you have said it well.

Each generation hears everyone talk of peace and good will and then they see their fathers go off to war or acting greedy in their own country...When will it stop?

Thanks for crafting and sharing your poem. I love what you wrote and how you wrote it, and agree with you wholeheartedly, that children - just like sponges - absorb everything they see. Line 3 and 4 are perfectly expressed:
