Beautiful poem shelby I thought you did this one very well and thought that the feelings in which you so flawlessly put in about your mother were well written. Keep up the great poetry.

Congratulations on winning the contest. I am really pleased for you.Your words written here are brilliant. Time will heal but one doesn't forget. We feel so sad but we have to press on with life. Our loved ones in special ways help us when they are in heaven.

Wonderful loving poem.

BethShelby,
Your poem is a fantastic tribute to the death of a mother. The title says it all "Grief." I see why it won the sad poems contest. Your meter and descriptive scheme are well written. I liked the fourth stanza the best:
'Yet, no matter where my path would take me,
your devotion encased me like a glove.
There never was a time I felt alone.
There never was a day untouched by love.'
Melissa.

Dear Beth,
You have already, and deservedly, won the competition, but I hope my heartfelt praise will still mean something to you. As you may not know, I am not a fan of much except rhyme and metre in poetry and so I find a poem like this particularly entrancingly beautiful. Technically, it is superb and emotionally it is spellbinding.
Regards
Reg

Beth,

This is a most excellent poem and your thoughts within are so honestly written and well composed. It must have been difficult to face these feelings as you wrote this.

These lines stood out to me and you are very blessed:
"There never was a time I felt alone.
There never was a day untouched by love."

Congratulations on winning the contest.

Linda

This a superb piece of
verse, the choice of words,
both rhythm and rhyme all
flowing smoothly throughout...
even when we expect to lose
a loved one, we are never
prepared when the time comes.

Very impressive - Deserving of six,
but I haven't one I'm sorry to say.

And congratualtions on your win, Beth.

Margaret.

Dear BethShelby,
I could grab a very deep sorrow in your poem, came from the bottom of your heart. Very well chosen words and line as well, that drew me since the first line of this one." Such as:
"enshrined",
".. I was the only fruit your womb would know"..
lavished tendernes "
"your devotion encased me like a glove."
and this touching line
" which only time may heal but not erase". Excellent! warmly, amel
