Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

yeah life is sometimes like that. you find that you dug yourself into a hole which then makes you feel you trapped in a downward spiral. but then you remember that if you dug yourself into a hole you can get yourself out by instead of digging downwards dig upwards. make stepping stones so that you rise up above the muck. which is exactly what you've done.

best wishes

A story that is full of hope
and gratitude for so many little
things that all add up to that
each tomorrow will be better than
the yesterday, a tale of coming
to grips with a situation that
looked so bleak, filled with nothing
but darkness, and now with the help
of God, and then "true" friends, the
sun has broken through and your spirits
and attitude is as warm and as sunny as
the sun itself.
Indeed an artistic and stylish writing
on self improvement which can only be
done by yourself.
Well done

Way to go, Pupa! Keep building on the positive. There is nothing to gain by moping. You have reminded me that I too have much to be thankful for. It is easy to forget sometimes. You have written this very well. Nothing to fix or change. Rose.

Hi dear Pupa,

You're only human and all of us have to kick down the silent monsters which try to raise their ugly heads at times. There's always someone worse off than ourselves and I like the way you've written your way from sadness to joy and appreciation. Penelope

A great hall of fame sports athlete by the name of Joe Namath once said... "When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade"
But I see in this, that your attitude started to change in a positive way. We all have our ups and downs in life. Sometimes it just seems to pass one by for a time. But like the quote here states. Find the best in a situation and run with it. I enjoyed reading this well written essay... John

It isn't whether our cup is half full or half empty, but the fact we have a cup at all. Your story encapsulates that and ye, most of us are truly blessed. A pleasure to read.

Happy to read of your inner transformation of attitude and the realization that you can apply this technique to every aspect of life (with God's help!).

This is enthusiastic and uplifting in tone. Well written, though I've no idea how to critique this genre, which seems akin to letter/journal writing. It conveys the message clearly and gives a detailed sense of your personality and circumstances (Nice to get to know you better).

i didnot notice any spags.

This is an excellent, "aha" paragraph:
Wow! Just thinking of all this is already giving me a huge boost. I now realize that whichever situation I am put in, it is up to me to choose, find a detour, and make the best out of it. I now understand that I was going to get myself stuck, not with my poor old mother, but with my own negative thoughts and attitude.

Lovely artowrk choice! (Thanks to Jewell)

PUPA, I have experienced being a caretaker (for my father before he died) and assure you that you are not alone in this intense situation. Only those who have been through it can realize or relate to the intense stress and the major demands can impose. A positive attitude is certainly the most useful tool for you to cope with this.

Wish you all the best in continuing to realize how blessed you are to be able to serve your mom in this manner. May selfless love grow in your heart and increase your awareness of grace and beauty in your life.,

Blessings, rama devi

My eyes are brimming with tears because of your wonderful wonderment. I knew what was going to happen but that didn't quell the joy I felt when it came to fruition in your post. You're a beauty, Pupa. I love you.

Thank you Pupa,

Those times when we don't appreciate what we do have, come up more often than I'd care to admit. Sometimes it takes a good kick in the rump to snap me back to the here and the now of my life. When I do that I look around at the beauty of the coast I live on the sunshine of my days and the warmth of the friendships that I treasure.

Thanks my dear for that vitual kick in the butt.
I needed it.
Suzie.

Why, your positive attitude does produce a good write-up. I like it when you realize that you are not stuck with your poor mother but your own negative thoughts. And as a care giver, you indeed have the joy of giving that your friends do not necessarily have. I hope years ahead (when I am 'real old' my children will think the same as you.
