Oh dear, Beth! What an amusing but terribly sad tale! How awful not to ever be blessed with great animal friends. It sounds like you've given it a fair old go though, bless you. I just can't give up on any animal - besides I am the one in the country to whom everyone else brings their errant pets.
There was just one spelling mistake I noticed:
"......none of which possessed any of these charactristics.."
(only an 'e' missing; probably a typo).
Enjoyable read, well written as usual.

Kat, Thank you. I had one review where the lady said she had a cat that peed only in the toaster. I can't top that one. I'm liveing in the country now and I'm having a little better luck but they are still worth writing funny stories about.

Great story. I personally really enjoyed your story because I absolutely adore animals especially dogs. I am sorry you had such terrible experiences with them. Our golden retriever is one of our greatest joys. Great story indeed

Thank you for reading and commenting and the great review. This was written several years ago. Some of out later pets have left us with happier memories.

We live IN the country and have (and had) more animals than I care to recount. I probably couldn't anyway in the short space provided here. Luckily none of ours compare to the "interesting" bunch you've had!
This was a humorous tale and broght more than one laugh from me...and it wasn't in empathy. :)

I really like your descriptions .... of the various Cats and Dogs.
