In perfect meter and rhyme, you've penned a lovely poem about the role of the artist in building bridges, and connecting people. Great opening lines - so true too. I've heard people say they're not creative, but I too believe everyone has a spark of creativity, they just need to find out what it is. That street artist is amazing. I've seen his work before. Good luck in the contest. Penelope

Hi sixteezkid,
Your second verse is my favorite.
"And without thought, it flows so free
Heart, soul and mind; they all agree.
The passion artists do possess
Compels and drives them to express."
Sometimes I don't know where the words come from. They seem to flow out of no where. An artist is deeply compelled by an inner force to create. Your words describe this feeling beautufully.
Good Luck in the Contest

Your vision of the artist's role is stunning. The rhyme flows effortlessly; the tone is thoughtful yet forceful; the overall effect is uplifting. Beautiful!

Excellent poetry, Sue. The rhythm, rhyme and message are all flawless. What would we do without art? Our souls beg the inspiration of both our inner being and the expressiveness of others. Best of luck in the contest. Blessings to you, Linda

This poem has a lot of clarity in its structure and I was very impressed with the form and the rhyme. I think the artwork is fabulous for this piece. Well done.

i think you did a great job on this, we are all striving to find that moment, if it's a poem or a painting something that defines us as what we aspire to, i enjoyed the read

Yes, any art form is such a personal expression and can become very personal for the reader or viewer. Thank you for your very kind review. Sue

Well done; you kept to the rules of the contest and developed a nicely crafted verse. The rhyme and meter are consistent and flow well and even the punctuation is good (although you're missing a few periods; either use them or don't). Good luck in the contest.

Yeah, I have this "thing" about periods at the end of lines. Don't know why. You're right, though, that I should be consistent. Thank you for pointing that out. I appreciate your great critique and review. Sue :-)

Fabulous poem. I like everything about it, excellent rhyme, rhythm and flow.
A beautiful description of what an artist is about ...
With tireless work, they seek to find
A voice, their own, to be refined
And heard by others, it impacts
An audience± which soon reacts
This is very true. The role of the artist.
