An interesting turn of events. This is another great chapter that keeps the reader on the edge of his seat. Every line pushes you to read on. Nice work.

Hi there Smurphgirl
I see on my message page I have a few chapters to catch up and review so I will keep my comments to a minimal few words ... that way I can move on!! I have not much time and need to get a short story finished for a competition here in NZ, but I don't want to get behind either. I find your story so compelling to read. Marion.

It is, after all, the world's oldest profession--there nothing to be ashamed about. Under the circumstances it is completely understandable. Another riveting chapter, dear Smurphy. Smiles, Seraph

Interesting job interview. Don't think I ever had one quite like that before. To answer your Author's Notes, no, your life was a mess and people who have messed up lives sometimes allow themselves to get into bad situations.

Extremely interesting the angle you had taken on life by that time, afraid just enough not to be fearful of nothing, cause
you had survived the worst already, what else could anybody do to you, besides end your life, and it was no fear there ether.I am absolutely loving this candid uncovering of your march to a life of healing, and an abundance of self love being discovered.Again, extremely well written.Cranial Thinker

Thank you so much for your exceptionally kind review. You are right, when I hit bottom there was only one place to go and that was up. It was a difficult journey but I did get through it. I sincerely appreciate your kind words. Life has its ups and downs and it is up to us to do the best we can with what we are given. Again, thank you for your encouraging words.

I sometimes think the trading of sexual favours for money is more honest, then what actually goes on, when people pretend it is something other then that. Don't feel bad, circumstances drive women and sometimes men to this, few would opt to do it if they had other real choices. I enjoyed this chapter, in fact the whole thing, it is all very well written. You MUST get published.

Well, at least you have the guts to say you thought about it! Well written, no typos or SpaG that I noticed. The people you describe sound very much to me like the kind of folks that exploit folks when they are down. Thank gods you had common sense!
Warmest wishes
Kat

Yes, but sometimes common sense fails you. In desperate times you often do desperate things.....Thanks for the high rating.
Comment from Thesis
Desperation and hunger would certainly play a major factor in a decision like this.
Many people say they would never do it, but they have not been in a position where this type of decision is the only option to survive.
You do what you have to. It's not always pretty. - Thesis

So true. Unless someone has been in a similar situation it is difficult to know exactly what you will or will not do. Thank you for your kind review and genorous words of encouragement. I sinerely appreciate them.

You're a stronger person than me, I would have ran out of there once she said he was outside it see if they were followed. Good job on this.

Even with Richard's child support payments/, / I was finding it difficult to make ends meet. Three months behind on my house payments, /I/was beginning to panic.
It was hard enough /cut:time/ dealing with my past without the frightening prospect of discovering even worse memories hidden inside my head.
His tiny, cold, steel-b/l/lue eyes barely held up
time had sculpted deep lines into her face and too much sun had turned her skin into /cut:a/ leather.
I have to comment on your comment, and your past apology to me when I mentioned that I did feel your rage. "no apology needed" you are achieving exactly what you set out to achieve. and as for being disappointed, please- people love this sort of stuff, and believe me, I for one am no angel. I relate to much of your story, not the abuse, but in other contexts, I total relate. I 'did' work for agencies- and could write a book that would amaze people, and it wouldn't be fiction. heh. as I'm sure you know, the world is full of all sorts of very interesting, for lack of better phrase, people. Thank you again, for a great chapter... P.S. it is those personal tid bits that lend your story it's dynamic power. as in the first chapter, the child and the rooster- as in your thoughts about Joe and Sue, people in this life, are always quite interesting people. as are you.
