Loved this one! You perfectly captured in only a few words the excitement of New Year's Eve in NY City. Great job.
Wishing you the best in 2009 - sherry

Thankf for adding that not about millyen as opposed to million. This works very well, and is certainly ideal for the New Year

Well done. You have said it all. The world sees that ball drop in time square, and as always, the New Year comes. Great presentation and well executed. Joyce

This is a strong contender because you use such vivid concrete imagery - I can visualize the crowd as I read - I've had the pleasure of going to Times Square on New Year's Eve a few times, and you brought all the memories back

Look closely. I might be in that pic. Yup, I'm the one with a black crombie on.
That is the one thing we always beat the yanks to. Then next year, we win by 5 hours.
Indeed, always use the Oxford and save real English. That Darn Webster bloke change real English. Even niking U.

Can you believe the nerve of us yanks to change the spelling of words like gaol and tyre???!!! Shocking!!! Yeah, forget about the "U"...last rites given! For me? I favour colour! LOL!! However, we Americans are lobbying for GMT to be based in New York, so forget about your 5 hour advantage in future. Sorry.... ;-(( Sue

Great break from lines two to three with "2009"--I grew up in NYC and the ball is a classic, as is the phrase, "big apple"--takes me back to those days with a smile. Nice work!

jeslaf, what would America be like without our Flagship, New York? I think sometimes we all take it for granted! So glad you liked this little piece. Thank you very much for the most kind review and for your compliment on the satori. With warm regards, Sue
