Hi Hagar,

Very amusing story involving two nations who speak the same language, yet have very little cultural understanding of one another. The attitude you portray of the American attitude that everything in London is smaller than in America has led to many jokes.
My understanding of 'picked up' in exchange for money, would mostly be in relation to picking up a prostitute.
Then again, I suppose we 'pick up' a bargain.
I like the little touches like visiting 'Peccadillo'

While I did enjoy reading your story, I'm not quite sure if there is a plot or reason. Your writing is very good, funny in many places, but I see no continuation. I see no problem. Only he is not happy to be there. Prehaps I am missing something. I will continue to read and see if I catch up. I am a bit slow.
