Hi Kid, I love your poem. I identify with it.
I lost my husband eleven years ago, how I would've
loved his embrace so many times.
My favorite is the last stanza ...
For only with your touch
Am I in this calm place
And when you are in need
I'm here with my embrace.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful poem.
Have a nice weekend. Ana

Even though it is very sad you lost your husband, there is still a wonderful beauty in still missing him after 11 years. True love for a true companion. Thank you so much for your lovely review and comments. Most sincerely, Sue

Hi there. I like this. Lots of emotion created. projects an image. Good narrative verse. Do have a question.
Vulnerable, so tired
In need of an embrace
With strong arms and deep heart
You take me from that place
"You take me from that place." What place? Lines 2,3,&4 seem to go together well. But, to me, they don't fit with line 1. That's just my opinion.

Hi Boberto, thanks very much for your generous review. And thanks for asking for clarity.
He takes me from the "place" of my vulnerability. That place that I don't really want to be. Hoping it fits for you now! Thanks for reading my poem and making your specific comments. Sincerely, Sue

I figured that was what you meant. Thanks for the note, Sue. Take care.

This poem was wonderful. It flowed nicely and I could really relate to it. I recently became an empty nester myself and I have really learned to appreciate my husband. When we are close and just sleeping, I feel secure because we have been through so much, both happy and sad during our years together.

Aside from the extra space after the third line I thought this was a very well done and expressive poem. I liked it very much.
Happy writing.

Yeah, I got that line fixed by the administrator. Not sure why that happens. Thank you very much for your generous review and comments. Glad you liked it! Sincerely, Sue

Lovely and soothing words. I was torn between thinking you were writing about a romance or the love of God. The last four sentences are my favorite. Either way I like the poem. God bless.

Nice sentiment. Smooth and easy to read. A very common yet universal feeling.
++In need of an embrace (most meaningful line)
Thanks for sharing.

Hello fellow lover of the arts! Congratulations on your art being shown! If you care to have a look at a couple of my pieces, they are on the front page of the sister site here, fanart. It's my on little gallery where my work gets shown! HA!!! Yes, acrylics are a great medium to work with.
Thanks so much for your generous review of this piece. I am very glad you liked it. Most sincerely, Sue (6teezkid)

I could not find your name on the list. How is your name spelled on Fanart? tony
-
Just go to home page and you'll see them. They are 3rd and 4th under traditional art.
Oh yeah, I had to change the spelling of my user name: On the art site, it is
6teezkid.

Very nice art work! I thought that your autism enigma was just wild! Very creative. It's nice to meet another abstract artist. tony

Hey, Kid,
I really liked that one. Not only did it have a nice cadance to it, good flow, it had a message. To me, it was like a promise from God:
"And when you are in need
I'm there with my embrace."
Wonderful!

What a loving tribute! Your poem took me back just a few days to my mother's final conscious hours. The cancer had returned with a vengeance, and drugs no longer worked. But the arms of her husband comforted and eased her suffering until she left it all behind for her heavenly home.
Thank you for this beautiful, comforting reminder of her love.

I've never said this online, but I must. I cried upon reading your words. At the hour of our need, that embrace can mean everything.
But for you to share with me your mother's final hour; that she had that embrace even until then...I am sad and happy at the same time. And still filled with tears. With my warmest regards, Sue
-
Thank you, Sue. You helped me finally cry, too. I've been needing that release.
