Despite her being gone from this physical world, your daughter lives on, not only in her spirit which you carry with you, but through your words.
The body is just a shell, the spirit lives on forever.
Blessings,
Nita

Hello Lov'n Peace,
This poem certainly touch my heart as My mom and I use to sit and play scrabble together and I, too, would beat the pants off her. Mom also died of cancer so this poem has a
double connection to me. However, in the natural way of life, the child buries the parent - the parent does not and never should have to bury a child. My deepest and warmest condolences to you.
This poem reads from the heart and flows well. I have no suggestion for improvement. I particularly liked the following lines as I feel they are the essence of this poem:
the spirit of whom you have become
is branded on my heart
Regards, LateBloomer

Hi L&P,
The shell of who you once were
is buried on my retina
the spirit of whom you have become
is branded on my heart
That is so like us to not realize the space and importance of those in our lives until they are gone. This stanza is written with such depth of love. As you move through the days ahead her spirit will help to ease you through. Beautiful and heartfelt write. Thank you for sharing. God bless and best wishes!

I'm glad to walk this journey with you, there's a lot of power in your voice. Just awesome and very apt about how loss affects us all.

Do you know - I feel sure
I've reviewed this before..
oh well.
This is a good piece of verse,
albeit oh, so sad... cleverly
thoughtout and presented.

Margaret.

This is so beautifully expressed. The pure feeling and honesty of it is heartrending, but so full of humanity and love. How blessed was your daughter to have a mother like you Ma.
God bless.
