You are correct. It does deserve a repost and an update. What an absolutely brilliant commentary and story. I loved the part about your granddaughter, and then I went on to love and admire you for the rest of the story.
This is so good. I just wish more people realized the truths that are written here.

I really enjoyed reading this. You are so right about how divided we have become and how unwilling many are to hear any opinion that doesn't support what they have made up their minds to believe as truth. I've know a lot of people who thought like Dennis and refused to listen to reason or proof that what they believed could be incorrect. The road sign is a good title for this piece.

SIX STARS!!! Wow. Thank you for the bottom of my heart. I always feel humbled and a little bit 'special' when something I post gets 6 stars. Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed the piece. ann

After the beginning of this story, I didn't expect it to go where it went, but it was amazing. I admire you for standing up for the rights of all people to be judged by what they do for the good, and not be taken down with lies. I often start into these battles but I get too frustrated to continue. As the saying goes, There are none so blind and those who will not see.
I found one spag (there might have been a couple more, but I got too caught up with this to make note of them lol) "I admit (I) was as sold on my position as he was on his."

"Are we on Highway US 89?" creates a perfect observation of how politics seem to be today. Here in Alaska I become shocked at how National Republic Party goes against Senator Lisa Murkowski just since she refuses to favor Trump. Regardless of my republican history I could never vote for him. Also just had to vote for Obama.

6 stars from a very good writer such as you are are very humbling. thank you so much. I agree with your political thoughts Some things are not Republican or Democrat or Independent -- they are just indecent. Lying is one of those things. Again, thanks for your review. ann

Ann,
This is a fascinating story and essay. The problem is, it is becoming more difficult to define the differences between principles and bigotry. Time has a way of unraveling truths, which are hard to discern amidst the throng of voices. A few notes follow.

"Different strokes for different folks," says it best. We all don't share the same thoughts and opinions, but it doesn't necessarily make the opposing views or viewers wrong. Of course, it doesn't make them right either. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for reading and commenting. I appreciate your comments and agree in many ways. As far as I am concerned, I do not object to anyone's politics, religion, etc -- I just want honesty and truth. Know what you believe and accept whatever that is. Also, for me, I have to remind myself that my choices are not necessarily what others should choose for themselves. Again, I truly appreciate the review. ann

I'm with you, Ann. I just wishing people would start making decisions on what they think is right or wrong, not trying to uphold republican or democrat agendas. Whatever happened to looking out for "We the people?" I guess, looking out for Americans' isn't financially beneficial. LOL. Thanks, dear.

Great telling of a good story. Well done.
My bet is that even after eight years of Obama, and many of his acknowledgements of and praises to God, people still watch FoxNews and deny the truth.
Best wishes and God bless you.
Oh, and I love the photo. My wife and I take those sort of pictures all the time.

I like this edited revive post, expression is realistic, touchy and interesting; on such event everyone may pray God and remember God's intervention, man's decisiveness brings in result as one expects; man has to keep trying for survival as fortune favors the brave; well said, well done; post god speed more; positively encouraging editing, negatively not wording, forgiving errors of theist-good authors-writers.
