this is another enjoyable chapter from you that brought back memories of my 12th grade english teacher. one week we would do english, the next week literature. i loved the literature weeks, where i aced a thesis on Chaucer--94 due to typographical errors.

Fantastic in getting the reader to visualize Mister Rath and getting involved in the story instantly! Although, it did seem Mister Rath was "gazing" one too many times. Use that unique "voice" you have to change one of those and it would flow smoother and not draw attention that we are actually reading this and that it's not implanted in our head. Otherwise, great writing!

I loved this chapter, which was well written, with great use of dialogue. It taught a lesson, but oh, you presented that so well, with humour, emotion, and vivid imagery. I loved it. The dialogue was excellent and moved the story along at a great pace.
Thanks for sharing.
Warmest regards

Thank you, most of my work is creative non-fiction, and like O.Henry, I suspect it has long been written in my head and heart before it goes to paper!

There was a great chapter! You were able to keep the pace moving at a nice, brisk trot and did a super job at characters.

I look forward to reading more of your work

    Thank you.
The two chapters ahead of this are from a few years earlier in my life. I usually write in creative non-fiction.

Oh, but I loved your Foxtales chapter starring the eminent Mr. David Rath. I remember a similar teacher, though admittedly not quite so dramatic, who entertained us with her wit. Will have to read your previous chapters, and hopefully will delight me as much as this.

Thanks, do enjoy! The Broomstick Rubberband Bazooka story shows why I probably needed Mister Rath to channel some of that gone awry intellect!

You write very well, very well, indeed! English teachers were always my favourite and as a boy as I was very fond of a few. You evoke pleasant memories mixed in with those of the pains of puberty; the school ball with all its hopes of paradise that end, with despair, in that empty space upon the dance floor.

Thanks. I tried to do justice to Mister Rath's excellent vocabulary skills. Our High School lost him to a community college just a few years after I had him for "Masterpiece Literature!"

LOL! What a wonderful tale of vulnerability and success. Very well done. I especially liked the: You Will Survive!'. True of anything in life, it just doesn't seem possible at the darkest of times. Really inspiring read.

Thanks for sharing.
