Starkat, the theme for this poem is so different to the one I have just rated.
Shows that you have got talent.
I could almost feel as if I was there.
Well done.

An absolutely lovely poem, deserving of the first place win in the contest, Starkat. Congratulations! Soft, delicate, and soothing verse, to go with a picture that tells of the same emotional pull.
"Morning mist tiptoes through the blush of dawn,
depositing dewdrops on fields and lawn.
Tall grass riffles from a whispering breeze,
that also ruffles tree branches and leaves.
Memories of lilacs and lavender
drift across dusty roads I remember.
Past fields and farmlands these roads curve and comb,
taking my heart down the paths that lead home."
Perfect word choice, beat and rhyme. But most of all the message is so dear.
Bravo!
Take care,
Foxey

I LOVE this! Wonderful descriptions match the picture perfect. This reminded me so much of my childhood on my aunt's farm. I could almost smell the lilacs again. Thanks for the beautiful memory.

Lovely poem, Sir Starkitty! The second verse in particular is striking, with "memories of lilac and lavender" - it's very apt for the colours of that image, and the whole mood of the piece fits it perfectly.
Good luck in the contest!

Hi Starkat. This is a beautiful piece of well written poetry in which you have incorporated the artwork effectively. I learned a new word, ie, riffles. I enjoyed your imagery and excelent aliteration. Good luck

The start of your piece immediately
puts the reader into a gentle feeling
of the quietude of the misty morning
through the blush of dawn. That line sets
the whole visual image up of this short
but beautiful rendition depicting the picture
in confines with the rules of this contest.
Good luck
Well done
