This is a very passionate piece that I feel comes through well. The whole last part about the blessing was a good way to bring this all together. boy this world is such a hard place to be in sometimes and often that is how the sadness is dealt with...some say its an alergic reaction to the drug but i think it is more than physiological...yours, diana

Substance abuse is hereditary, at least in our case. Some of us O'Brien's have it (the desease) worse than others. We have to understand that we have a problem, want to change our lives and then begin the process. But it all starts with knowing and admitting you have a problem.

There is a lot of good and happy in the world as well. You have to look for it. I tend to write for laughs. There's already enough misery. ( ;

Not sure who you're talking to, but it sounds personal, and like it's someone you really care about. I hope it works out for them. Too many of us live in psychological pain in this country.

Please hear me when I tell you even though you're feeling lost and alone; your lost state is just temporary. --- Consider comma after 'you'. That would also lead to changing semi-colon to comma.

Lost is only half the coin...found is the --- Spaces on both sides of ellipsis.

All of those things (even though buried,) await your triumphant return. --- Do you intend comma to be outside the parenthesis?
