Sweet, as heavy with the aroma of nostalgia as with the powerful smell of lilacs! This was all done with such a deft touch that the form did not overpower the rich recollections. Congratulations on a great marriage of form and content!

This was really delightful. I certainly enjoyed the unusual shape of this poem. It must have been very difficult to accomplish, but you made it look easy.

You always do well with this format, and as usual, you have not disappointed. This was a wonderful storyline with the perfect tetractys format and syllable count.

I hope your not talking about Robert and Marty Smith in Kentucky, hahahahaha, because I knew those two Smith brothers, but they were in their twenties then,LOL. This is a magnificent post you have here Mrs. KT. I heard from Penny (Kentucky sweet pea) that the fireflies aren't as plentiful anymore and the bees are being driven off as well because of cell phone usage or something. When my four kids visited my ex brother in law Worley in Tennessee, I knelt down and told them, "Enjoy yourselves and watch for the fire flies" LOL. A truly wonderful poem of your castle Fair. Ray :>)

Good story of childhood memories.
Tough structure, my hat's off to you.
Good fluid read, flowed very smooth.
You have done the children od Swarthout Drive proud!
I'm sure the Smith family would be happy to read this tribute to your friendship!

This is beautiful! Summertime and old friends and happy times long ago. It doesn't get much better than that. Lovely poem.

Boy did this bring back memories! We would make tents out of quilts and spend the night or at least part of the night in the backyard. Mom would always leave the back porch light on and the door unlocked. Good luck with the contest!
