Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem and message with us. I was never a student of Greek Mythology, but I did enjoy reading about Icarus and the message his story has for us.

I know the story of Icarus very well. When I was a little boy, my grandmother read it to me, and after asked me what I had learned. I said that he disobeyed his father's good instructions and died because of it. I asked my grandma what she learned. She said all that I learned she learned. But for people in poor conditions, "hang your hat where you can snatch it back." It took me years to understand it, but I finally did. Your words are strong, and carry strong meaning for all of us.

We always know that will happen sooner or later because no one is ever born for such mighty, impossible feats of grandeur and power. Love what you've done here, depicted so effectively with this mythical, tragic figure! Debbie

There is a lot to be gleaned from such legends and fables. (I always think of "The Emperor's New Clothes", which also seems relevant with the emperor being praised by all his sycophants who won't or don't tell him he is making a fool of himself.) A sad post and even sadder notes.

Thank you for sharing those amazing pictures. I know the myth of Icarus and it always made me sad for the father, Daedalus who saw his son plunge to his death. I like how you applied the moral of the story to today's political scene. I always thought that Musk was smart but really, he and Trump are very similar in personality. I wonder who signed that Exec. Order about the deportation since Trump said he didn't do it???

Thank you very much, big sister. Today I saw a video of the deported immigrants walking shirtless, with bold tease, and in changes. Many of them are not criminals and we're legal residents.... it's so sad.

"I don't know anything about that" is trump's way to not accest any responsibility. As a president he should be informed. But I don't expect anything positive out of him and his cabinet.

    Love,

It's devastating. But Jesus understands what it's like to be judged and killed wrongfully. He will set things right if now in this world, but the next. 💖💖🙏

Your poem really grabs my attention. I love the way you share the danger of reaching too high. The lines "wings of avarice" and "airs of grandeur" gave me a sense of ambition gone too far. The tension you build with "he flew too close to the" is so well done. It leaves me wanting more! Like there's something big about to happen. Keep up the great work - your writing has a way of drawing me in!
