Every human being needs to focus on other persons' needs, and only by relating to them can we relate to ourselves. When someone succeeds, we express our admiration.

This free verse, Elysian Life, finds that the nirvana of living beyond the pale involves a relationship with the Big Guy in all the ways which on may think appropriate. Nice.

You have hit many of the senses with this beautifully written contest entry. I'm curious about this man. I'm wondering if it's a description of Jesus. They way you described His chrematistics and the love, I'm guessing it is. Good luck with the poem.

Yes, it's about Jesus, most reviewers don't get it.
I read a fictional book about Jesus and his wife Ana. The way their love is writen is very romantic but in a nature based and profound love.
Thank you very much 😊

Hi I am trying to find which way to approach this write which is so full of poetry beauty and cleanliness, still there is another side which a dirty mind might think of but which I would rather dismiss at once. Well done and I admire you walking so dangerously on a tight rope.
But great you chose the Godly path,
Benny

Just what every man wants to hear, and should strive to be, love the way you have put hard working, rough, gentle, and odor all together and made it sound so needing, very well written and presented, best wishes for your contest****kahpot

This is a beautiful love poem! And there's something spiritual and ethereal about it because the smells and touch and visual descriptions all come from nature. Best wishes in the contest!

Wow, Gypsy, this is very lovely, filled with vivid and startling imagery of this Man. It may be a human, with a strong and powerful but tender connection of love, but equally it could be speaking of worthy love for Jesus, who is strong but tender, bearing our sorrows yet joyful, enjoying the creation He designed and made, and present with us day and night. I like the ambiguity and layering. Very best wishes for the contest.

Wendy, you are the only one who made that connection. Jesus was an extraordinary and loving human being before he became a loving divine and powerful God. There are some who believe Jesus had a wife and children.
I was inspired by "The Book of Longings" by Sue Monk Kidd,
The fictional story is a radical reimagining of the New Testament, "The Book of Longings" It follows a fictionalized Galilean scribe named Ana who becomes the wife of Jesus during the lost years, commenting on the silencing of women across history and literature.
I'm happy you like the poem. I'm grateful foryour exceptional six stars review and kind words 😊
