Carol, you do these ghostly stories so well as though you recognise that we're always living with the phantoms of the past. It's just that some see them and others don't. Your story is beautifully and poignantly told of a tragedy in which a little girl, Emily, died. And yet Sarah could see her as clearly as anything and a reciprocal connection was made. Thank you for sharing this hauntingly sweet story, Carol. As usual, it's flawlessly written and a very entertaining and imaginative read. Well done and good luck! Debbie

This is a really good ghost story that perfectly explains the girl in the window. That she moved closer to Sarah each day was about as scary as anything could possibly be.

Well, thanks Carol. After reading this it scared the bejesus out of me lol! The girl was no longer in the window. She was standing outside on the overgrown lawn, staring directly at her. This was my favorite line in the whole story! Keep up the excellent work!

wow this was chilling. It really pulls the writer right in. To think the house was standing there as well for Sarah to see. So spooky. And the note with the birthday party. It must have been the little girl's birthday party. Just to meet a ghost is one thing but to get messages from the ghost is a whole other ball game.

This is suitably creepy. It is good. I read another one with the same picture also good. That picture has inspired a few people. It brings to mind the gothic stories I read when I was a teenager. Karen

It's from Marilyn's Horror Shop and she asked us to use the picture when we wrote...whether it be poem or prose. I don't do much horror but this was fun. Thanks so much.
Smiles, Carol

This is a good entry for the 'Watcher at the Window' prompt. There's just enough tension to make it a bit creepy but not overdone. I like that Sarah becomes the watcher at the end. Blessings. Carol

Gee, this was a scary yet sweet story, and I almost gave in to follow that little girl in the house and keep her company. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Hi Carol, that is a great story and spooky to boot. I wonder what the message meant. I hope it was not a precursor for Sarah's demise. It's well written and sent a chill down my spine. Love, Ulla xx

That was really good, Carol. I'm beginning to believe you can write about ANYTHING! Not only that, but you write them all so well! The ending to this one made the hairs on my arms stand on end. Sara got to see her again. This was brilliant, my friend. Well done. I'll have to have a look at this site. Well done, my very talented friend. Love and hugs, Sandra xxx
