You're a smart woman, more witty and entertaining to read than Mad Magazine when I was a kid. You'd make for a wonderful conversationalist in about any crowd. Any but an old women's luncheon where you'd have them wild eyed with hands over their mouths in shock. LOL. Thanks for sharing another fine post. Sorry I've been out of commission for a while and I won't be back in full action for a while.

Lol! Truly magnificent! I really enjoyed reading this Karen, it had me laughing so hard. I really liked the rhyming scheme and the meaning is so awesome. The photo goes great with it too! Keep up the great work!

People seem to be very happy with these quips. Some I just wrote, some came from my notebooks I have accrued over the years where I am not sure what I wrote na what I wrote down from others. And some some I borrowed lately. I thank you for the read. Karen

Karen, #2, 8, 10-12 are the best (of course, all of them are great - and funny). #2 and 8 are for serious thought; the other three I laughed loudly at. Your writing exudes humor. I love it. I hope today put a smile on your face. Be well. Frank

Thank you for the read. I have been in a funk lately. Not writing or reviewing much. Some of this I just wrote, some came from my notebooks I have accrued over the years where I am not sure what I wrote and what I wrote down from others. And some I borrowed lately.Have a good weekend. Karen

Mama said there'd be days like that. I have them too. They will pass. At times, I need to look back at some of my old writing. There are some good ideas I could build on. Keep the faith and smile. Frank

Now I am going to hum that song all day!

    Lyrics
Mama said there'll be days like this
There'll be days like this, mama said
    (Mama said, mama said)
Mama said there'll be days like this
There'll be days like this, my mama said
    (Mama said, mama said)

I went walking the other day and Everything was going fine
Met a little boy named Billy Joe
And then I almost lost my mind

Mama said there'll be days like this
There'll be days like this, my mama said
    (Mama said, mama said)
Mama said there'll be days like this
There'll be days like this, my mama said

And then she said someone would look at me

Like I'm looking at you someday

    Then I might find
I don't want you any old way but I don't worry 'cause

Mama said there'll be days like this
There'll be days like this, my mama said
    (Mama said, mama said)
Mama said there'll be days like this
There'll be days like this, my mama said

    My eyes are wide open
But all that I can see is
    Chapel bells a-tollin'
For everyone but-a me but I don't worry 'cause

Mama said there'll be days like this
There'll be days like this, my mama said
    (Mama said, mama said)
Mama said there'll be days like this
There'll be days like this, my mama said
    don't you worry
(Mama said, mama said, hey, hey) don't you worry, now
(Mama said, mama said, hey, hey)
(Mama said, mama said, hey, hey) mama said there'll be days like this
(Mama said, mama said, hey, hey) there'll be days like this, my mama said
(Mama said, mama said, hey, hey) mama said there'll be days like this
(Mama said, mama said, hey, hey) there'll be days like this, my mama said
(Mama said, mama said, hey, hey) don't you worry

As soon as I read this I had to go back and listen to it. Great song and now you've got me singing it. :-) I read some history about the song and found that the original was written in 1946 and released again in the 1950s, both times in the UK, before the Shirelles released it in '61. Made my day. Thanks, Karen. Have a good Wednesday. Frank

As I am reading I am humming.
I was talking to someone else yesterday he liked the Munsters and I liked the Adams family, and I was singing that all day too.Karen

Sounds like you're having a good day. That makes me happy. The sun's out today and it's the first day of spring. What could be better? Be happy. Frank

Still humming the Adams family song.

    They're creepy and they're kooky
    Mysterious and spooky
    They're all together ooky
    The Addams family
    Their house is a museum
When people come to see 'em
    They really are a screaming
    The Addams family
    Neat
    Sweet
    Petite
So, put a witch's shawl on
A broomstick you can crawl on
We're gonna play a call on
    The Addams family
    They're creepy and they're kooky
    Mysterious and spooky
    They're all together ooky
    The Addams family
    Strange
    Deranged
    The Addams family Karen

These are actually for the seniors, words of wisdom passed with a sweet touch of humour. No4 got me thinking. It is as true as truth can be. Well done, dear Karen. Keep them coming, my friend.

Number two and number five made me pause and think. Solid wisdom my friend.

As a bonus, a couple of these made me laugh. Very good, indeed!

You are a gem, my friend.

-Good image and nice presentation, Karen.
-The crime shows is a good one.
-No. 8 is a good philosophical one.
-No. 9 is good, as well as 10; nothing
like a good buddy to share your cell,
and that wouldn't be the phone, either:)
-You can't go wrong with Mark Twain.
I wonder where he got all of those ideas from.
-The last one is the best.
-Very well done and good humor.

Oh my God this is totally enjoyable and the best is the last.
Please forgive I must have brushed a great many persons into the dust pan or may be the vacuum cleaner. Hope the forgive. Who know I may be one to face the dust pan one day.

Have a great day
Benny

I have a saying my papou, grandad t as right me. "The way you look at the mirror is the way it looks back you" like be nice and people will be nice to you.

My mom used to say an old Greek one. If you bend and show your ass, somebody will kick it. meaning people will see you're a sucker.

How about the one from Mark twin I think.
Keep you mouth shut and let people think you're a fool or open your mouth and make them sure you are.

Not sure of more. I'll think.

I used " keep your mouth shut" and let them think you might be a fool. Or, open it, and remove all doubt. :-)
reply by Alexandra Trovato on 15-Mar-2025
Good. That's the best one of those I think. ;)

This is really amusing and I need a laugh. Life gets too complicated when we add a newly divorced grandson, his 10-year-old daughter and 4-year-old brilliant but autistic son to our household.

You will no doubt be very busy. I have a nephew who is autistic and I found out a lot of autistic boys are crazy about trains. The sound, the motion, I am not sure what fascinates him so. And, many are very intelligent about a few subjects. But human touch and social behavior is often too much for them. Good luck and best wishes. It will be interesting. Karen
