Sweet! I love to hear about young people that have dreams and goals. My daughter was a gymnast and dreamed of being an Olympian. She didn't achieve that goal but she did play volleyball at PennState which wasn't too shabby.
In enjoyed your 10 word poem.
Blessings

Isn't that too sweet. Your ten word poem just says it all. It is a shame it was too late for the contest. It would have had a wonderful chance. All best, Ulla :)))

You gotta start somewhere and have big dreams while you are at it. So many children, especially when they are small, tend to listen to the nay sayers and think they can't do what they wasn't to do. How do you know until you try!

I hope he makes it ! This is a nice short story about having hopes and dreams. When I was young, I wanted to be a race car driver. Thanks for sharing.

I love how much story you packed into so few words! Jackson's dream is so clear! I can feel the determination behind it. The mention of the Stanley Cup makes it feel full of hope. Great job!

Dream big, as Spanky says. (Dream of a big watermelon)
My son, who was always the smallest in his class, but quite athletic, continually asked if he should be a pro baseball player or pro basketball player. (Mugsy Bogues was one of his heroes)
Good luck in the contest.

Hi John,
Nice story! It's always good to have a dream, a goal (if you will). We humans need a reason to get out of bed in the morning. We need to pursue something special, even if it's a pretty little red-haired girl, Charlie Brown!
Speaking of the Stanley Cup, how about those Toronto Maple Leafs??? Do they stand a chance this year? Mitch Marner! I knew he'd be a big star the very first time I saw him on the ice. A wonderful playmaker!
I feel sorry for poor old Marchand, though. He wanted to finish his career with the Bruins, but now finds himself in Florida with the Panthers! Imagine him on the ice with Bennett, Tkachuk, and Ekblad during the playoffs this year! Drama!
Cheers,
Kimbob

This was a cute piece about a child in ten words. You did a great job capturing the innocent feel, especially when the piece is paired with the picture you supplied. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.
