These are some powerful declarations here, Wright32. It's a very good tribute to your mom, your heritage, and their legacy - you, yourself. You should consider doing this as a spoken word piece if you haven't done so already. It has an interesting flow that I think would work well for performance.

I heard your unique accent in this lively poem about your Mum and the love you had for her. When life is tough and we can rely on family, then we have an anchor in life. I have been independent all my life, I left home at the age of 18 and never looked back. My Mother was not as nurturing as yours and there is always something missing in our upbringing, but when we can look back and realise our path was full of learning, we can be satisfied with our standing in life. Thank you for sharing your unique poem with us about your life. These words are from the heart and your relationship with your Mother is something many would envy.
