Hungers and interesting subject to write about.
What percentage?
How many deaths from it?
Where is the worst place that it's happening?
Why is it so bad there?
These are questions that need to be asked and addressed properly.
There's no reason for the state I live in New Jersey that's 60,000 people go to bed every night hungry.
Good write Al.
Thanks,

The author is a spiritual person evidently from reference to a thought in inspired scripture, namely Proverbs 6:6-8, "Go to the ant, you lazy one; Observe it's ways and become wise. Although it has no commander, officer, or ruler, it prepares its food in the summer, and it gathers its food supplies in the harvest..." The Greatest Author in the Universe inspired these words.
The author of this piece aspires to success as a writer by following greatness. Best wishes

Nice twist to bring man directly into the created order with animals and bypass the often made distinction between man and nature. Good poems. Enjoyed reading it.

So true, something that is the law of nature....All, included.. food grown it takes some work for man & like your poem reads that, too, smaller creatures, birds & ants & all have to still toil for their food ...I really like this poem!

Work, or as you say toiling, teaches us many things. It is meant to be that we should work to eat. It is natural just as is hunger and the generations that try to skip it do so at their peril.Your haiku says much Giddy

Hi-coo; thingy
Malingering birds/insects etc.
Workday, jerk-play yay yay
But some other time, okay
To survive, strive to stay alive
Details at eleven, don't be late
For work and play, say can't be beat
And what's this got to do with
Finding something else to eat?

Your well-written 5-7-5 effectively states a fact of life--one that God made clear from the beginning: Man and creature must work to survive.

Yes, I am. Work like a dog to get something to eat.
Short and sweet and a life truth as you advertise. Even us ants.
For survival, you must toil,
Work; birds, ants and all.
