What an excellent start to what I'm happy to see is a series. It's hard enough to write a successful mystery story, but to do so in rhyme and meter is much, much more difficult. Not surprisingly, you've figured out the trick.
You beautifully laid out character and plot without missing a beat--literally. I'm anxious to read the other chapter you've written, which I'll do now.

Well now, Pam.
A crime and detective tale in a poetic form. This is a new one on me, but I must say you have me hooked with Part 1.
Is the man in the picture the lead detective?
Also, is this a work of fiction or based on a real case?

Genius! You, the author, of course.... I can't believe that you have taken a mystery-crime story and made it into a poem that rhymes and I can actually understand. A lot of poems go over my head...but this is fabulous. Off to read the next one...

Pam,
This is a great poem. It's sad at the same time. It is hard for detectives to solve a case without DNA. The killer is smart that way and a disgusting human being at the same time.

They were raped but no semen stains? I don't know that I've ever heard of a rapist taking such care.
So he plants a (painted) kiss on their chest; the kiss of death?
Pam, I'm intrigued, even though the subject matter is gruesome. I've not seen a series of poem that tell a story before, and I'm looking forward to reading the next seven.
I assume this is true? I could just Google the Kirby case, but could you post a couple of suggested websites where we could go to get more information. I assume you've used a few to research your poems.
Thanks,
Pam

I just read part two first, I'm glad that I got part one so I am all caught up with your poetic crime thriller. You could very well be onto something new, a new genre. don

Such a sister yet beautifully written piece. I see you have a part two I shall go to read that as well. Immediately engaging your poem is. The matter of fact, way that you wrote it, it is brilliant.

This story poem, The Kirby Case Part 1, introduces this murder case in such a way as to pull the readers in for the ride to find the killer of women in Kirby Field.

The way you wrote this was really well done, and pulls the reader straight in. Is it a true story? It doesn't matter if it is fiction the writing crime story in poetry is very clever. I'm off to read part two now! Well done, my friend. :) Sandra xx

This is a well written story in poetic form and I enjoyed listening to it. I'm not a big fan of murder stories however. May you have a wonderful day and I wish you the very best with your writing. God bless. Patricia.
