It is nice to hear of someone who still believes. Yes, I know there are many but seemingly less today than past years. Churck lots are half full and where the networks carried services in the past they too are fewer.

You wrote a good story with a very good title. You begin it well describing your experience going to church and that your family was with you. You do a good job showing some of the things that are important to you, like your family and friends, and doing the right thing.
You also show the maturity that comes to most of us after we graduate from high school. Those years aren't easy, and as you said, it's not necessary to "dwell on the difficulties." Very good concluding lines about keeping positive memories, being thankful for what you have, and treating everyone equally. You did a good job. Good luck in the contest.
