What a nice christmas story. Buying presents for your partner is hard. I always had trouble buying my husband something. Well written. Good luck in the contest.

Ciao mystery poet, you now have three votes!
I stopped buying gifts decades ago but if I was forced, I think a gift card would be the perfect choice.
The receiver can buy what she/he wishes. Less hustle for me and the person on the receiving side is super happy.
It is an easy way to avoid unwanted gifts that often end up getting recycled.
There is only one hitch though.
I read that scammers are onto them. ( sigh)

Some excellent alliteration here in your Christmas flash, all helping to give this story appeal and fun. And query solved. A reciprocal gift card for his wife, so they'll be drinking their Christmas beverages at different cafes. Well done and good luck! Debbie

Hello there. I enjoyed reading your poem and appreciated the sincerity and value you used to describe your theme. As a picky wife, I understand the conundrum your main character faces. Great job on this fun one! Good luck.

This is a great Christmas Flash story. The story is well organized and flows nicely from start to finish. My family says I'm hard to buy for, but I'm not. I just don't care what they get I will still appreciate it. I'm so easy it's hard for them.
Well done and good luck in the contest

"Christmas Conundrum" is a charming and entertaining story that effectively captures the trials and tribulations of holiday shopping. The relatable theme, humorous dialogue, and well-drawn characters make it an enjoyable read. With a bit more detail and emphasis on key moments, the story could be even more engaging.
Congratulations on creating a delightful piece for the Christmas Flash writing prompt!

Hello!
Poor Andy having such a particular wife. I understand the idea of "happy wife, happy life," but doesn't it become somewhat tiresome when not only doesn't she allow Andy to buy her a gift, but then turns around and gets him nothing but a gift card? Yeah, something wrong there! Oh well, what Andy's wife needs to do is read about the rules of Christmas gift giving and chill out a little bit. Andy shouldn't be so stressed out when trying to make his wife happy.
Good flash fiction! You set the story up very well with your limited word count. Good luck in the contest!

Thank you, Patrick, for your kind praise. I used to feel the same way about gift cards you do, but now that what I ask for.
