Laughing here...

As a child I had a long and serious discussion with my dad about "I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus"--

I was such a worry wart! I still remember the twinkle in his eye when he told me mistletoe was special, and it made friends give a friendly " peck" on the cheek to show good cheer.

I'm sure he and my mom had a giggle over give year old miss morality!

This is adorable...

OH my! I was distressed! My dad was the best in never talking down to me. He listened, he pondered, and he comforted...

This is a very cute holiday story about the innocence of a young child as she tries to understand Christmas traditions. It proves that adults should be careful in how they explain their actions to impressionable children. A fun read.

You have a real talent for setting the scene in your stories, Carol and I could really see all of the Christmas decorations that you described. I thought Becky was really sweet and I could feel her curiosity about the mistletoe. An entertaining read, I enjoyed reading it.

I have a hat with mistletoe hanging over the bill. It's a great gag item, but hasn't netted me any actual kisses . . . yet!

Fun read. I feel like daddy needs to do a little more investigation into this caper. where did those flowers come from? Hmmmmm . . .

I bet that mistletoe is just waiting for someone special.... Must of been the Christmas spirit in me letting her off the hook so easy. LOL

This was a kind of touchy situation. Daddy seems to have taken the kiss of another man with a grain of salt. He seems like a pretty good hubby. I suspect Mommy was a little more interested in the "friend" than she should have been. Been there done that a couple of times and it does help the old ego.

I think it was just a friendly peck on the cheek but to a little girl it seemed so much more. It's all in the eyes of the beholder, I guess. And I think daddy had a lot of trust in his wife and took it for what it was meant to be...a little holiday cheer.

This was a delightful story and I very much enjoyed listening to it. It is just like a little five-year-old child to assume things like that I think it is a marvelous story. May you have a very merry Christmas and enjoy all the little children in your life. Patricia

thanks for enjoying the Christmas story, Patricia. Was the four stars an accident or was there something you thought I should change? You said it was a marvelous story or I wouldn't ask. Regardless, thank you for reading and reviewing.

What a very cute little story, no wonder kids are shocked and a forced to grow up very quickly if the parents break up, but you're not that kind of writer, and nor am I Carol, beautifully written, my friend, well done, blessings Roy

I sure try to give happy endings to all my stories...maybe I let my mind live in fairy tale land but it's better than the dark places I've been. Glad you enjoyed the story, Roy.

"Rockin' around the Christmas tree, have a happy holiday." Another glass of rum, shaking your bum, and kissing whoever you please. I would have thought dear daddy might have been a little more upset. But as we get older, sometimes we just remember "what's good for the gander is . . ." LOL.
Thanks for sharing.

I could use a little rum and coke and turn it into a colada right now...but I don't like to drink alone. And Rockin' around the Christmas tree by myself might result in a injured hip with no on to help. As for kissing the delivery man... i think I'll pass. I prefer to know where those lips have been. LOL Wow! Now it sounds like I did find the rum.

ROFL! We sure share a lot of similar thoughts. A nip of rum with anything sounds good to me, as does "Rockin' around the Christmas tree. But I'm with you, these days, we never know where those lips have been. LOL.

Twelve more days and I'll be on a plane back to North Carolina and my granddaughters...spending Christmas with them and not in this freezing col. It was one degree today...Thant's too cold. Hope you have plans for the season and know that I will always be thinking of you. Take care.

I'm so glad to hear you'll be going back to spend the holiday with family. Knowing you have happy plans is as good of a Christmas present as I could get. I think I'll either go to Las Vegas or the casino in Hollywood Florida, and be a drunken gambler. :-)

That sounds like a "merry" way of spending the holiday unless you lose you money...You know how to reach me if they throw you in jail. LOL

I do not know of any husbands that would let that pass without a long conversation. Unless the were either guilty themselves, or did not care. An old boyfriend getting kisses? Not a good idea. LOL Karen

It was just a kiss on the cheek and she didn't try to hide it.... I think we sometimes make too much out of nothing but then there are times when love is blind. We just can't win.

Wait a minute, you're going to let Mommy get off that easily? If my old friend from college delivered red roses and a kiss to me, my husband would have quite a bit more to say about it, lol!

You certainly are in the holiday spirit, Carol, with all your Christmas posts. You're getting ready to travel again for the holiday, are you not?

Have a good weekend.

xo

My exact reaction at first, Pam! But then I decided it was the season to be kind and spread peace and joy, so she caught a break. In twelve days, when I board the plane back to my granddaughters, I will find the Christmas spirit and be overjoyed. Until then, I bluff my way through by writing spurts of Christmas joy.
