I had to really look closely. Is the bottom picture a whale or surfboard? Your poem mentions he,but shows a woman, definitely senuous, so I was thinking somewhere there's a male with her on his mind.

She is a personification of the sea. The bottom is nothing real, it's just an abstract motif.

Your poem flows so nicely. It's an awesome way of expressing a feeling of euphoria and, I took it to mean faith, or even passion for life.

I guess he is dying? Or maybe he works in the sea regularly and just loves being in the sea. Some people really feel more at home in the ocean. I like your choice of "overflows" to go with the water theme and all the alliteration!

It's not literal... it's poetic metaphor and personification of the sea like a lover.... I just let my imagination go wild. LoL
