Great piece pal. I knew immediately when I saw that who the author was. Ha.
It seems like "AI" has not made its way into word processors yet. That word is usually used as a ridiculous misnomer. It's just sloppy programming that doesn't know when to use left quotes (<quo;) instead of right quotes (”). That seems to be the case in your piece. I think though that you could just leave off the quotes altogether, since the entire quote seems to be from Santa, not just the last two words. And you already have it in a different font. You could always change the color of it, or make it even bigger. It's really not a big deal, and the contest is already over, but maybe useful for next time.
Thanks for the laugh and congrats on placing well in this contest. Glad you beat out some of the more sentimental entries.

I think, in terms of fitting the verse to the visual, this one has to win the day! The dialogue is perfectly and humorously couched in Santa's misery and resentment. Well done and good luck! Debbie

It appears that Santa has had a rough night...the jolly old man isn't exactly on the charming side.... Maybe he needs to update that sleigh so the cookies don't get stale and the milk won't be warm.

Oh dear Santa is not very happy here, thank goodness I leave him a glass of sherry and a mince pie, he always polishes it off with a smile, a fun post, love Dolly x
