Nice imagery. I am a little confused as to the connection between the color purple and crying. It is a somber color, and you are alluding to the somberness of love being hurt, but the connection isn't clear. I think part of the confusion is the second line. It doesn't quite fit with the first and last lines. Good work. 5-7-5 poems are difficult at best. Good luck in the contest.

Your title purple rain reminded me of Prince that saying that in his movie. My sister was one of his dance choreographers. wouldn't that be sweet if the rain came down in different colors? I never thought about Angel's crying, but the way the world is or the heart that people go through. I'm sure that they can empathize. Nice haiku good luck in the contest.

I had a difficult time with the poem's rhythm. I liked the first and third lines, but the second one seemed discordant. That may be just me but I wonder if the word much could be changed. gayla
