I think you know you've written something special when you're scared by your own work. I really enjoyed reading this piece, Carol, and I loved how you upped the tension. An excellent piece.

Caught between a thriller with ghosts and the holiday spirit, tossing it around and this is what one gets. thanks for reading and enjoying.

You should have saved this for tomorrow. I could have given you a six then. This was wonderful. The angst of contest writing. The muse not helping out as it should, and the complete involvement in your writing that takes you away from the normal parts of life. A hand on the shoulder, classic. Karen

How kind of you, sweetie. I appreciate the thought and the virtual six anytime. I guess I was torn between my thriller with ghosts and the season of joy...thus we got a little of both. Thanks so much.

Carol,
What a great story. It's funny how the evening went on and Clare scared the wholly crap out of herself. It was quite funny when her son touched her shoulder and she almost flew through the roof. That's funny I don't care who you are.
Well done my friend.

Hi there Sweetie.... Finally landed at home and needed a bit of Christmas spirit...or "jolt" to get back into the mood. Glad you enjoyed.

This is a new creative twist...a scary Christmas story. Clair's muse is like mine. She comes when she feels like it. Lol. I like to enter contests, but my muse couldn't care less. That's why I can relate to your cute Christmas story. I love that Claire was ready to write by the story's end.

As you can tell, I had just landed back home and was settling in...no Christmas cheer was here yet...so I was torn between the jolly holly and the thrillers with Garth and Donatelli.... so you got a touch of both. LOL

Thanks, Barbara.... I had just gotten home from traveling and my house was barren of Christmas cheer. So I was torn between the "Holy Jolly" and the thriller with Garth and Donatelli... thus you got a bit of both.

LOL, Carol, well done. Last night, Humpwhistle read from the new Christmas book on a Zoom call promoted by the book's publisher. After it was over, the moderator asked about his relationship with his characters. He replied, "They boss me around." So, it stands to reason they could scare you! Terry.

I wanted to hear the podcast but I was flying high with United at the time. I hope that it went well and your book sales are rising and doing well. I published my first a few weeks ago, but I don't know anything about promoting it. Thank you so much for the marvelous stars and kind comments.

Carol, Lee stole the show. He is charming, endearing, and wonderful. You go to YouTube and search: Atmosphere Press. It should come up. Lee starts reading at about the 25 minute mark...and the next twenty minutes are very fun! Terry.l

Carol,
This is an awesome story! I sit sometimes and glare at an empty notebook, as I try to come up with a new and interesting poem or story. I can refer to my muse as being a sleeping beauty that never completely wakes up.
Good luck with all your writing, Carol.
Have a blessed Christmas,
Cindy

I've had that type of muse plenty of times, but lately, I've been lucky and mines on a roll. Appreciate the read and the kindness.

Hi Carol, this was an excellent story. It was exciting and compelling. I like the fact you have the reader guessing . I really thought it was a ghost. Great writing.

Hi, Brenda...So happy that you enjoyed the story. I'm stuck between Christmas merriment and the ghostly thriller, I guess. So you got a touch of both! Thanks so much.

This is a delightful story and I very much enjoyed listening to it. It flows very well, but it is rather loud and it does keep the reader and suspense. I wish you the very best with all of your writing. I also wish you a very wonderful weekend. May God bless you. Merry Christmas. Patricia.

Thanks, Patricia. I've never heard my stories on audio. Guess I will have to do that some time. Thanks as always.
