Hi Zanya,
I have been a member of the Saint John Astronomy Club for 20 years. One of the first things I learned when I got my own telescope, an 8" Sky Watcher reflector scope, is that winter skies are much clearer than the other seasons. Better viewing. But (there's always a "but"), observers have to contend with the cold. Sometimes, bitter cold!
So you've written the truth, "wintry night sky glows with bright stars". Your syllable count is correct for the 2-4-2 poetry contest, and I wish you "Good Luck!"
Oh, I forgot to mention, if you look close enough, you may see the odd mosquito with a scarf and boots on!
