Very well written and expressive poem, I can completely relate to it, shattered, glass, torn emotions. The up and down emotional roller coaster that leaves you bereft, and with these kinds of the phrases, it can only come from a mind, such as yours! " The image shadowed my inner child" my favorite line. What I find is a great tool is to read the poem out to myself, and I'd listen for meter for flow for a cat cadence.Try to have each line in the same syllable, count. I enjoy the rhyming skin. You chose and your word choices are sublime. All in all an excellent poem!

What a great poem about not being perfect. I agree that it's much easier to tell the truth. Sometimes it's painful to do so. Like you said it's much easier than trying to keep track of all the lies and who you told what.
