Ciao mystery poet, you may not have noticed.
I read your poem last night and you had a beautiful pic of a tiny furry mouse in a hollowed trunk(?) showcasing your poem.
Something happened.. and the original pic was been swapped with his sensual pic ..nice but it has nothing to do with the topic of your poem.

Ciao mystery poet, you now have your first vote.
Shame you didn't find the original
artwork nevertheless I like the topic.
Field mice have a tough life in winter if they don't find shelter and safety inside a home or a barn.
If they have to make a burrow outside, they risk being food for many predators out in the wild. Or die of hunger as you pointed out.
You still have 16 hours before this contest ends.
Best of luck!

Ciao, Tempeste. And thank you. I will try and find the original artwork, which I also preferred.

What a beautiful winter Haiku poem you've created. There is something about a cold winter night and snuggling that go together. I will have to look it up.
Well done and good luck in ghd contest.

This haiku, Hibernation, has the proper formatting and sees the woodland vermin busy trying still to establish a winter's provision to fend off the feared state of starvation.
