Thank you for sharing this story/poem contest entry with us. This was a fun entry to read. The rhyming scheme and near rhymes were excellent. Good luck with the contest.

Thank you for reading and commenting. This was fun ti write, too. My sister says she can imagine little people skipping along to the tune of an Irish jig. Now that I look at it, I guess it could be a song, too.

It could be. I see it too.

Thanks for reading. This poem arose from me wondering if Cain had children.

The rhythm of your poem made the whole piece feel like a song. And it pulled me along with it. The idea of the dance of life kept me interested.
Keep up the wonderful work!

Thank you, Michael. I started this as a poem only, but it took on a sing-song quality. I was worried it was a bit too long, but I'm glad it held your interest.

This is a great poem that tells a story quite nicely. Just when you think is being kind you find out it's all but a big lie. This poem flows smoothly for beginning to end.
Well done and good luck in the contest.

Thank you for reading and commenting, Cecilia. I admit the poem is a little grim (and a little Grimm!), but life is strange.

You're welcome

I really like this work you've done very well, I love the progression, it's like the I inevitability of the seasons, they come and go, but still with the differences that come with the changing days having their own personality, well done, beautifully written. Good luck, blessings Roy

This is a bit different, and that is a good thing. It is a full story and like the lyrics winds a path for the reader to follow. We learn more about them as the story continues, and the pace and rhyme scheme make reading easy.
I think this should do well in the contest.

Thank you for reading and review. As a child, I was often put to bed with the stories of the Brothers Grimm.
