I know little about Renga, but I can say you've perfectly captured in words the picture you've included. I enjoyed the image and the alliteration of "frozen in flight."

Hello, Gloria!
Admittedly I had to read your exceptionally well-crafted Renga more than once to glean its entire meaning.
That's what I have always admired about your poetry: you make me ponder and think!
With economy of words, you create not only an interesting play on words but a beautiful observation as well.
Thank you for sharing!
fondly,
diane

Frozen in flight and in time, forever captured with wings out. A lovely photograph, Gloria and your simple words add to the beauty. I loved the second line. The beauty of photography is capturing those moments, as you have done with your words. Loved this one Gloria,
cheers,
valda

This little 7-7 poem is simple, yet artistic. The title adds so much meaning to the poem. Without the title, the clever use of the word "frozen" would be lost. The title in conjunction with the image makes me "feel" winter from the perspective of wildlife and humans.
It's a nice little poem.

I love poems about herons. Your chapter has a zen feeling... very calming.
Excellent chapter for our Renga Book. The Renga form has the right renga composition. Beautiful presentation. Good syllables and connection between lines. Thank you for participating in our book with such a beautiful verse.

Every entry in this Book of Renga has been stimulating. Some write the first three lines, in 5-7-5. Some write the last two, 7/7 ~ as you have here. Some are offering a complete Renga with all five lines. This 700-year-old form is finding new life here on FanStory and at a time when many are celebrating holidays it's bringing collaborative work together with a sense of fellowship.
Love the "f" alliteration in your last line. Excellent colors and presentation.
Great job!
All My Best,
Karenina

Hello Gloria.
Haven't seen you in a while. I haven't published much of my stuff here; just six times since I came back in late September. I've had some poetry published in a couple of large publisher anthologies and I've been focused on that. I always enjoy reading your application of the English language to poetry. Nicely written with a great image.

Indeed, Gypsy has been helping a lot with the secrets and possibly the myths surrounding Japanese poetry and indeed, I don't know how non syllables turn into strict syllable anyway, well done Gloria, Blessings Roy
