HI Lea, I believe that once we die...God calls
our spirit to Him...and all that is left is the shell
of our bodies...that go to ashes...
once in heaven...our bodies are replaced...
no disabilities...no pain...

I love your poem...very well written...perfect picture...
love Linda xxoo

Oh, yes, you're absolutely right. Our bodies are the vehicle. We drive not who we are in the same as soon as we pass.We leave the body, the body feels nothing. And then we pass and we go home.We have no more thought to the body. So you're exactly right in my opinion. ISO appreciate your time. I'm glad you like the poem, alright? Also, I'm happy that he stopped in for a read and offered your thoughts. Hope you have a wonderful holiday and that your evenings, your grand as well as your days too!

Your subtitle had me worried

One hopes to be dead and then cremated. My mother was cremated.

I didn't want her body, flesh to be eaten slowly by vermin.

I released her ashes just last year at a local waterfall ..it took me years to set her free.

My father was buried, I would have preferred cremation but my stepbrother wouldn't budge. I like to believe his essence left the body once he died.

I still would have preferred his body was cremated and his ashes returned to Mother Nature.

I'm sorry to hear about your parents truly. No once the soul leaves, there's no mark connection to the bottom body. They wouldn't feel any of it. Think of it like this. If you're in your car and you're driving down the street, you park it.Are you the car? No, you're just the operator of that car. It's the same with our bodies, the car we drive. Every time you think of your parents or call their names, they will turn and smile at you because they are at peace. They are home, they are truly themselves. Thank you so much for your review. Thanks for sharing with me.I hope that all is well with you and yours and that you have a great day!

From life's blaze we take our last breath and regardless of our sins or scars, our sols are set free, and our love soars through the gates of Heaven. We are so blessed!

-I have my husband's ashes with me, but that is only his body, his heart is always in mine, his hand in my hand. I love the drama of your 2-4-2 poem Lea, and this presentation.
cheers,
valda

That's right his heart's always yours. We keep things like ashes and mementos of a funeral, because we feel like we should, then we need to get some sort of comfort, whatever it may bring from that object. But every time you think of him or call his name, he turns to smile at you. Thank you for your great review. You're awesome rating in your time. I'm sorry for your loss.I do hope that you are doing well.

May I never find myself lost to the temptations of another, that they control the destiny of my soul.
Love the picture that helps set this poem up, made me think of myself to reflecting on how people perceive me. May we always walk forward with our own hearts to that are lord walks beside us. Shadrach

Wow, Lea, you say it all in so few words. We're here and then one day we are no more. Our life, souls and thoughts are mere ashes blown into the winds. Well done. Ulla xcx

I see this poem as representing three separate phases. First are the cinders of fire, hence the cremation. Second is the freedom from life's turmoil. And third is the eternal reward...Heaven. You may have had other thoughts as you wrote this poem. However, it seems like a meaning full contest entry. Best wishes in the contest.

Your 2-4-2 poetry is well written. However, is it death by fire? If you are, then you are talking of the old Hindu custom of committing Sati where the woman threw herself on the pyre at the cremation of her dead husband. It is now banned all across India.

I don't think you meant that. Perhaps "Life by Fire" could be a better alternative.

I think, for me, it's more about the process of cremation, we die our bodies are committed to fire. Our souls are free. Thank you so much for your kind review for reading.I really appreciate your comment. It gives great food for thought. Thank you for your trying to answer meeting. And you're very cool insight! Hope you have the best day!

That is a fine artwork .well suited for the theme .In India we are familiar with cremation. but it is s till a shock when you crete your closest person.. The soul is set free totally purified...all the best for the contest.
