I really enjoyed this chapter, Steve. It was nice to see a more in depth look at the characters of both Carey and Riley. It's always good and more realistic when you can show more than one side of a character because that's how people are in real life.

I can understand Riley's hesitation about getting help and having others know. That's a very human reaction from a prideful cop. I also liked their banter at the end. You left it on a humorous note.

Thank you, Jim, for another incredible review, my friend. I'm excited this resonated well. I will be doing the same with Dodie Rae in the near future. My mind is in overdrive as I pass the halfway mark in this novel. It's like a tornado of scenes and ideas swirling around this old brain, lol.
    Thank you again, my friend.

Helen better come through for them. Or, will they have to move? You are creeping me out. What's gonna happen? I think since Riley was not an offender somehow the spirits knew and helped heal him. Just a thought. And, I think Riley will become one himself. Watch out May. He will never be the same. Karen

It appears, May, is quite the actress. Riley as well, I suppose. They've managed to hide the abuse from everyone, including his best friend. I didn't care for Riley early on, but now I have a soft spot for him.
Thank you for this incredible review, Karen.

No one wants to think that us sweet little things can better a big strong man. :-)

That's the men's downfall when they think that way, lol. Then they crap their britches when they find out.

Loved the moment you had Carey get the idea of the two related werewolves. Your excitement came through. I am wondering if Carey will figure out whether his partner is an abused man. Riveting. Just riveting. Gretchen

Thank you, Gretchen, for this stellar review and explosive stars, my friend. Carey was to occupied with Riley's attack to realize it earlier. I'm excited for the things still to come.

You've got me almost gun-shy, so to speak. Every little move or hesitation you have me thinking something is about to happen again. And now, you've let it be known what Dodie and Bay Lynn are definite suspects; so, there might even be more people that need to go. LOL.
Thanks for sharing another great chapter. I can't believe I'm already out of stars already.

So Officer Carey has figured it out, the two creatures are related, grandmother and granddaughter, they are working in cahoots as vigilantes, together trying to rid the world of abusive men, they are like mass murderers, as mad as meat axes, that's why they're abusive, it a sickness, and too many women and children and the odd man are being abused, they bypass protocol, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Oh dear, I'm now wondering if Daniel has turned into a werewolf. He didn't die, and he is healing fast. I wouldn't be surprised if he has. But what happens then? I can't wait to read on. Well done!! :)) Sandra xx

Carey has figured it out. I am wondering what will happen next. I do really like this story.

My Doctor said I may be able to go home as early as tomorrow afternoon. (doctor because of the 'My')

He sat there for a moment, then said. "The look in its eyes, (said,)

but I'll visit again later this evening after work." (you can omit 'later' it's understood)

He turned back to Riley as he said. "I love you, man." (said,)
