Your count is right, you have appropriately avoided rhyme and strict meter.
The result is a pleasing sensory poem about that which snow will be blanketing for months!

It is a book with forms and styles and it gives an example of each style in the form of a poem. It has taught me quite a bit. Now all I have to do is figure out iambic pentameter. It is such a foreign concept to me I can't get my head wrapped around it.

At one wile flower were being planted along some of the highways. I think it was project a president wife's had to make the roadside beautiful. There was road highway going from Tennessee to North Carolina. The flowers were amazing.
