That's a good old word and describes many a mischievous little boy. I remember when it was used quite commonly for little troublemakers. Its the kind of word that makes us smile. Evi

Yes, we ought to bring the word back. I taught preschool for thirteen years after I retired from my regular job. There were years when my entire class was whippersnappers. Many days I went home with a headache. Your cute poem reminded me of those days.

This was cute. My guess is you found the image first, then patterned the words for it. It doesn't matter. It brought smile to my face. I'm sure all of us have known such a boy in our lives.

I haven't heard that word in a long time. My grandmother used to use it a lot. She was probably referring to me, to be honest. lol Thanks for sharing.

love it, and this word has gone out of use in everyday use but it always had a nice ring to it suggesting a sense of mischeviousness- a great pic to illustrate

Patricia,

This is a cute little poem. Those three lines speak volumes. This reminds me of my youngest son who has ADHD. When he was in grade school I was always getting called in for something he did.

Great job my friend

I myself try to use old and odd words that people might have to look up.

Gobsmacked,( totally surprised)
Nonetheless,( even so)
Whipsydoodle, ( silly, of no account)
Kerfuffle,( a big mess)
Cattywampus, (Uneven or the wrong way)
Scrumptious, ( Beyong yummy)
Hullabaloo,( a big upset)
Meldrop, ( a drop of nasal fluid)
Nauseant, ( something that makes you sick at your stomach)
Flibbertigibbet,( someone without one thought in their head) and...
Quisling ( a spy)
and to end the dozen......
Callipygian (having a shapely behind)
That should get you started! Karen

I haven't heart that word in a long time and I enjoyed its use here as this young upstart is making his mark in life and learning lessons by being too outspoken, a fun post Patricia, love Dolly x

Very cute and mischievous looking little boy. This is an American word, I think. I heard it a couple times on tv when I was a kid. Shows like "My three sons," "The Beverly,Hillbillies," to name a few. I loved these old shows and these lost words and expressions.
