This poem reminds us that ravens are dark colored literally and figuratively. They are black in color and are considered bad omens.

I like it! The "edge of night" makes something non-physical like "night" have some physical border! And the blackness of the raven fits with the blackness of the night. Best wishes in the contest!

There is some mystery in this contest entry as to why the raven are perched on the edge of night. My mind is wanting to know more about that. That's a good place to leave your readers, wanting more. Good luck with the contest.
